Our Ministry Team
Our Ministry Team:
Our goal is for every member of our church to be involved in ministry.
Our Lead Pastor is Jim Thompson. Jim grew up in Alabama and attended high school, college and graduate school in Louisiana. Jim, and his wife Kim are happily married and the parents of two wonderful children. He enjoys playing tennis and volleyball, hiking and kayaking. Jim is interested in strengthening families, and helping each person relate the Bible to their everyday life in order to discover and fulfill God’s purpose for their life.
Jeremy and Kimmie Carroll are the Student and Children's Ministers here at Raleigh Heights. They have a passion to serve Christ and our students and children whatever the cost. They live by the verse 1 Tim 4:12" Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity". Jeremy and Kimmie live in South Norfolk with what they call their children Lucy (Beagle/Bassett girl dog) and Roy (Border Collie boy dog). Jeremy leads worship at the 11:15am service and serves with Hope as Co-Minister of Music.
Hope Hoggard is one of our Ministers of Music, working primarily with our Chancel Choir and playing the organ. She is also a middle school math teacher. She enjoys creative ministries: puppets, music, drama and plays acoustic guitar in ou Praise Band.
Susan Day is our Administrative Assistant. Susan is originally from Kansas, but grew up right here in Chesapeake. She enjoys cross-stitching and St. Louis Cardinals baseball, although she is still grieving Mark McGwire's retirement. She is an expert marksman (no joking) and loves teaching Middle School Sunday School.
Mark Woodward is the leader of RHBC's PRAISE TEAM for the 8:30am celebration! He enjoys playing the drums and bass guitar. He and his wife Sherry enjoy working with the children's and student ministries.
